Southern Charms
Date: September 9, 2011
Hey Everyone,
Gabriel and I are still getting settled in the good ol' hot, hot, HOT, (did I mention it's a little warm?) southern country. I've already had chicken fried steak several times. With gravy. And mashed potatoes. Anyway, we JUST moved into our apartment last FRIDAY! We had trouble finding a place and making things work out, so we waited on the Lord. We ended up with a small commute (about 20 minutes) to the school because as it turns out, Irving is a not so nice place to live. We did some research, found a nice area nearby, and got a great deal on a cute 2 bedroom apartment with all wood flooring. It's an older complex, but so far we love it! (They had amazing ratings, especially in comparison with others in the area, online).
For those of you who do not know, it did not work out for us to go to Christ for the Nations. To keep a long story short we took a leap of faith loading up that moving truck and putting all our stuff in storage about a month ago because they had not processed all our papers yet, and kept losing some. Anyway, we had so much trouble with them but finally got accepted right before the registration deadline, but we were unable to register due to a housing problem. They had a large enrollment and did not have room for us, and since they require all students to live on campus, we were left hanging. It was sort of like being picked last at P.E. and then the bell rings... maybe lol.
Anyway, I, being of my generation, promptly got on google and found Heartland School of Ministry in Irving, Texas -near Dallas. We were accepted promptly and enrolled. The tuition cost is similar to CFNI and they don't even offer campus housing. Plus, they were willing to take our credits. The nice thing is the school is much smaller than CFNI which is more what Gabriel and I are used to. So far, we love the class, teachers, students, and staff. God is faithful!
I will try to update soon!

**hmmm...not sure why this one never got published. Better late than never!
