Back home again...

So, I guess this blog has become quite outdated. I didn't feel comfortable blogging this summer because most of the stuff I wanted to write about was very personal and included other people intimately so I wasn't at liberty to do so. I will just say it has been a very insane year. I don't really want to share the intimate details, but I will be sharing some of my story and my heart in my personal blog, Enchanting, if you guys are interested in reading that.

Gabriel and I did come back to Colorado, we had some trouble finding work, which resulted in trouble finding a home, but it worked out okay thanks to our friends Matt & Rhema (total BLESSINGS!!!!). They let us stay with them this summer while trying to get settled. So, currently Gabriel is working full-time at a company in Longmont called St Vrain Dovetail Drawer. Ironically, there are several people from LCS who work there or have worked there in the past, and one of the bosses wife is a lady I used to work with at my old job in Longmont before we moved. Anyway, we are renting from some friend's of my parents, a really nice place -a townhome in Greeley, the very west side, super close to centerra. It's nice having a good amount of space, and for the first time ever our own garage! I will say we made a list of things we were praying for in our home and all of them were in this place, and in our budget! Ironically, one of the things on my list was a landlord we could trust =P
Some other things were gas fireplace, nice appliances (I'm super stoked about the ice maker on the freezer lol... the things you miss when you live in apartments), an extra room for an office, we could have our cat without paying an arm and a leg... God is faithful.

Keep us in your prayers, we are still financially really tight, realistically Gabriel needs to be making more money and/or I should be working as well. I haven't found any work yet.

We've also been through a lot of crud emotionally in the last year, but especially the last month, including some physical trauma, and family stuff. Prayers are appreciated. Sorry I can't share more details, I'm just not comfortable doing that, but thank you for prayers.

We are still  up in the air about ministry school or finishing at all. Right now it doesn't seem like a possibility financially. We would both need to get decent paying part-time jobs, and even that may not be good enough, in order to have the time to go to school even. Anyway, our church did start a ministry school this fall that seems to be doing well so that is somewhat of a possibility. We could also try to do school online.

Anyway, I'd love to hear where all of you are at and what you are up to.

Thanks for reading!

-Nikki

P.s. In other news we are taking a financial peace class by Dave Ramsey, which has been very enlightening, we highly recommend it! Also, I am involved in a ladies Bible study at church on Tuesdays based on a book called 'Secret of the Secret Place' by Bob Sorge which has been seriously amazing, a book you should definitely read. It's about intimacy with God, every chapter totally changes your life. Earlier this summer we read a book called, 'Is that really you, God?' by Loren Cunningham on hearing God's voice, really great and such a quick read! Again, highly recommended! We found it extremely valuable.
