A New Day in a New Year

2012 is finally upon us, just another day in a new year with which we can choose to glorify ourselves, or to bring glory to God.

Gabriel and I made it back to Texas safely. He has been getting work this week, so that is very good, and I have been contacted by several interested parties, so I may begin work as early as next week. I'm currently extremely overwhelmed with the state of our home. I want to get things more organized, and it is really stressful because I don't even know where to begin. Oh well, such is life. There are more important things to appreciate, I guess.
We celebrated our one year anniversary (yay!) in lovely Colorado Springs. That was very fun and God sent a really neat couple in our path to offer some wisdom on being young, married and trying to find out what God wants you to do with your life. It was very encouraging. Thank you all for your Happy Anniversary wishes, they were greatly appreciated!
So, an official update on school is some of our credits we had hoped to transfer were not accepted at our current school at the last minute this semester, and despite our hopes to graduate a semester early (we have more than enough credits to do so) it seems that was not a possibility in our current situation so we have decided not to return there. We are taking a semester off praying, and searching for our next step. We are looking into larger accredited Bible colleges such as Southwestern Assemblies of God, with financial aid and/or scholarships, possibly doing an online program, depending. We could use a lot of prayer right now. We have no idea where we are going. We felt like God told us to go to ministry school, but everywhere we go the door gets slammed shut in our face! It is really frustrating. Just when I was starting to really like that school and want to stay this happens. We just don't have enough money to stay part time the full two years. It would save us four grand to graduate a semester early, four grand we don't have. So, without the possibility of graduating early, financially we just can't stay there. Very disappointing. But I know God has a plan. And I am just waiting on Him. We both are. Together.
Thanks for all your prayers and support.

p.s. We did get my car back -Thanks, Marcie and Josh! :) And Dad, of course!!

  1. Gabriel and Nikki I'm glad you're putting these updates out and I'll definitely be praying. God has wonderful things in store for you and your faith continues to encourage others. How challenging to have so much up in the air right now. "You hear the wind, but you cannot tell where it comes from or where it is going. So it is with everyone born of the Spirit." Maybe that has more meanings than one. ;) God bless.

    2. Oh lol maybe I should leave it that way, but this is Brett. Nathan changed one of his usernames too and momentarily weirded me out the other day... Hope work is working out for Gabriel and you too if you've got some now. Cheers.

  2. Hey you two -

Corey goes to SAGU on line and will graduate next year. I am sure he can give you the low down...Also, the Nazarene school in CO Springs took most of the Riv credit...

Anyway, glad to hear you are doing well...keep close to each other and God and all will work out.

    Take Care,

    Kelly (Kyle/Corey's Momma)

    1. Thank you, Kelly. Kyle was telling me that the other day! I will tell Gabriel to message him asap. :) Thanks also for the info on Nazarene, is that where Kyle went/is going?
      God bless you!
